May Lee is the Director of Hope Kids OT, a leading Melbourne-based paediatric occupational therapy practice. She launched the practice in 2020 as a sole trader during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since scaled it into five custom-designed clinics, including a pioneering site within Kingswood College’s student wellness centre, a landmark collaboration with the independent school sector that expands access for students.
Since its inception, Hope Kids OT has supported more than 2,000 families accessing early intervention for the first time and delivered over 33,000 appointments across clinic, home, school and telehealth settings.
A multilingual team of 36 professionals , including 28 paediatric occupational therapists, combines cultural diversity, clinical expertise and a passion for play-based, neuroaffirming therapy. The practice is underpinned by a strong culture of mentorship and collaboration that keeps the team inspired.
The practice also extends its impact through group therapy programs, parent workshops and professional development training for educators and allied health professionals. Key projects include a product-design collaboration with global company B.box, community initiatives with Knox Leisureworks to create an inclusive sensory space and AI-powered app development to enhance clinical practice and family experience.
Under May’s leadership, Hope Kids OT is recognised as Victoria’s state finalist in the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards in both the Championing Health and Outstanding Growth categories, and May herself is a finalist in the 2025 Melbourne Young Entrepreneur Awards.
